Life’s A Picnic – IPC 142 Reminder!

Cards

Hello again!

There are only a few more days to join the Inky Paws Challenge! This challenge is all about using watercolors and I had so much fun creating my cards for the challenge blog!

For my second watercolor card, I decided to focus my watercolor in one small area of my card. Since I don’t have a watercolor pallet, I decided to create my own using some ink cubes. To start, I pushed a couple ink cubes onto a acrylic stamping block. The colors I used for my card are Gina K Wild Dandelion, Gina K Lemon Drop, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. I sprayed the area of my card panel that I planned on water coloring with a little bit of clean water and took a wet paint brush and randomly dipped my inks into the wet spot of my paper.

While I let my watercolor dry, I stamped the main image from the Newton’s Picnic stamp set and colored it using Copic markers. The colors I used are the following:

Basket: E79, E37, E35, E33, E30

Cat: 100, W8, W6, W3, W2, W1

Grapes: V09, V06, V04, V01

Watermelon: R37, RV25, RV23, RV21, G29, G19, G12

Apple: R29, R08, R05, R02

Chip Bag: BG49, BG45, BG13, BG32, BG10, R08, R05, R02

After my coloring, I used the coordinating dies to cut out my image and adhered it to my card using foam tape. To finish my card, I stamped the sentiment “dig in!” and a few little ants from the same stamp set.

I hope you take some time to get crafty and join the Inky Paws Challenge! You have until the end of the day Friday, February 26 to upload your card for the chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton’s Nook Online Store!

Thanks for stopping by!
