Squeeze The Day – IPC 143 Reminder

Cards

Hello again!

There is still time to join the current Inky Paws Challenge! This time around, it is a color challenge – create a project using yellow, green, purple, and white and link your project up to the Inky Paws Challenge Blog for a chance to win $20 to the Newton’s Nook Online store!

When I saw this color palette, I immediately thought of the adorable Lemon Twist Stamp Set. I started my card by stamping two of the large lemons and a few flowers and zest images and colored them using my Copic Sketch Markers. I used the following markers to color my images:

Lemons: YR24, Y38, Y35, Y13, and Y11

Leaves: G29, G19, G24, G12, G00, and G40

Flowers: V17, V15, W3, and W1

After my coloring, I die cut my images using the coordinating dies. Next, I cut a card base to be 7 x 8.5 inches and scored the seven inch side down the middle, so my card front was 3.5 x 8.5 inches. Using the Slimline Masking Squares Stencil from the Slimline Masking Circles and Squares Stencil Set, I ink blended the open squares of the stencil using Lovely Lavender and Vibrant Violet inks from Gina K. While still leaving the stencil in place, I then mixed a little bit of Perfect Pearls in the color Confetti White with some water. Using a small paintbrush, I splattered the Perfect Pearls onto the inked squares.

To assemble my card, I stamped the sentiments “when life gives you lemons… make lemonade” in the middle square using black ink. In the other two squares, I glued my lemon images as well as a sprinkling of the flowers and zests.

For a few finishing touches, I used my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to add some sparkle to the middle of the flowers and the zest.

I hope you join us in the Inky Paws Challenge and link your project up by the end of the day Friday for a chance to win! Thanks for stopping by!
