To start my card, I stamped the adorable image from the Newton’s Mug stamp set and the coffee beans from the Love Cafe stamp set. I used a alcohol marker friendly ink because you know I’m going to use Copics! To color my images I used:
Coffee Mug – V15, RV34, R22, R02, and R00
Cat – 100, W8, W6, W3, and W1
Coffee Beans: E37 and E35
When I finished my coloring, I die cut my images using the coordinating die sets and put some Glossy Accents over the coffee beans. Next, I cut a white panel down to 4.25 x 5.5 inches and used a coffee stain stencil and Walnut Stain Distress Ink to create a fun background.
For my sentiments, I cut two banners – each about half an inch wide – out of white cardstock. On the first banner, I used the leftover Walnut Stain Ink on my blending brush and ink blended over the entire banner and stamped the ‘Espresso Your Love’ sentiment from the Love Cafe stamp set using black ink. On the second banner, I lightly blended Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to match my coffee mug.
To assemble my card, I glued the banners together so the pink banner peeked out from behind the sentiment banner. Next, I adhered all of my pieces to my panel using foam tape. After I put my colored images on, I decided I wanted to add a little something extra, so I die cut and stamped the heart image from the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set and ink blended over the hearts with Worn Lipstick Ink. I adhered my hearts with a liquid glue and added Glossy Accents inside the stamped heart.
I know sketch challenges can seem intimidating, but I found this challenge to be so much fun! If you want to join the sketch challenge, create a card based on the sketch and link it up to the Inky Paws Blog! You must use at least one Newton’s Nook stamped or freebie image, but other than that, let your creativity run free!
Link your project up by March 26th for the chance to win a $20 store credit to the Newton’s Nook Online Store!
