Ready for Fall! – IPC 156 Reminder

Hello and welcome back!

If you haven’t joined yet, there is still time to join the Inky Paws Challenge! You have until Friday night to link a project up, using the sketch below as your inspiration, to the Newton’s Nook Challenge blog for a chance to win a $20 voucher to the Newton’s Nook Online Store!

To help give you a little more inspiration, I am sharing another card I made using the sketch for inspiration. To start my card, I stamped the image from the Fall Friends Stamp Set and colored the image with my Copic markers in the following colors:

Dog: E44, E42, E41, E50, E30

Cat: 100, W8, W6, W5, W3

Rocking chair: C5, C3, C1

Pumpkins: YR07, YR14, YR12, E33, E17

Flowers: YR07, YR15, Y15, Y13

Gourd: G19, YG67, YG63, YG61, Y11

After coloring, I cut the image out using the coordinating dies.

To create my background, I first cut a piece of white card stock down to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Next, I used the Falling Leaves Stencil to ink blend some leaves onto my background. To create the leaves, I used Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, and Barn Door Distress Ink. After I ink blended my leaves, I left the stencil in place and put some VersaMark ink over the leaves, then sprinkled clear embossing powder over the inked leaves and heat set it. I thought heat embossing the leaves would give them some texture and help them stand out.

To ground my scene, I cut a piece of wood grain kraft card stock so it measured .75 x 5.5 inches. On that piece, I stamped the sentiment “hello fall” using a black ink, then adhered that panel to the bottom of the background panel. Lastly, I popped up my colored image and placed it in my happy fall scene.

I hope you take some time to get your paws inky and join us in the current Inky Paws Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
