An Early Meowy Christmas – Inky Paws Reminder

Cards

Hello and welcome back!

There are just a few days left to join the current Inky Paws Challenge! All you have to do is create a project using Newton’s Nook Products and plaid then, link it up to the Inky Paws Blog for a chance to win a $20 voucher to the online store!

For my second plaid card, I went a little Christmas-y. I’m definitely not ready for the holidays, but I thought a little bit of plaid would be perfect with the Caroling Newton Stamp Set.

To start my card, I stamped the main image from the stamp set and colored it with my Copic markers in the following colors:

Pinks: RV25, RV23, and RV21

Blues: B66, B63, and B60

Yellows: Y17, Y15, and Y11

Purples: V17, V15, V12, and V00

Black Cat: 100, W8, W6, W5, and W3

White Cat: W5, W3, W1, and W00

Siamese Cat: E17, E15, E13, E11, E50, and E00

Next, I cut a piece of white card stock down to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Using an arched window die (mine was from Waffle Flower), I cut a window out of the card stock. Behind the window, I glued a piece of vellum to give the window a frosted look. To add in my plaid, I glued a piece of plaid patterned paper, in a similar blue to what I colored my cats with, behind the vellum. This diffused the plaid a little and made it look more like a winter scene.

Next, I stamped some snowflakes and the sentiment “Meow to the World” onto the vellum and heat embossed with a white embossing powder. (I should have done that before gluing the vellum to the card stock, but I wasn’t using my brain. Do as I say, not as I do. You already know that though.)

To finish the card, I die cut the caroling cats, popped them up with foam tape, and adhered them to the bottom of the arched window.

I hope you will join us in the Inky Paws Challenge! It really is so much fun to play along with and a great opportunity to get some free Newton products!

Thanks for stopping by!
