Hello and welcome back!
Today I am sharing a Valentine’s Day coffee card I made for the first Inky Paws Challenge of the year! This time around, we have a COLOR challenge using the colors Candy Red, Cream, Cocoa Brown, and Pewter Grey.
Siamese Cat: E17, E15, E13, E11, E50, E00
Red: R29, R08, R05, R14
Grey: C5, C3, C1, C00
Coffee: E59, E57, E55, E53
Next, I cut out my colored images using the coordinating dies.
I knew I wanted to keep the background of my card pretty simple, so I started by cutting another piece of white card stock to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Then, I masked the bottom half of the panel using purple tape, and ink blended a light pink area in the unmasked portion using Gina K Innocent Pink and Gina K Dusty Rose inks. For a little more interest in the background, I mixed some Confetti White Perfect Pearls with water and splattered it over the inked portion.
To finish my card, I stamped the sentiment, “love is in the air and it smells like coffee,” from the Love Cafe Stamp Set onto the white portion of my background, then adhered the colored images to the background.
If you are feeling inspired by the colors in this Inky Paws Challenge, or if you are looking to get a head start on your Valentines, join us in the Inky Paws Challenge for a chance to win a $20 voucher to the Newton’s Nook Online Store!
