Cover Yourself in Happiness – IPC 192

Cards

Hello and welcome back!

A brand new sketch challenge starts today on the Inky Paws Blog! Use the sketch below as inspiration for your project and link a photo to the blog for a chance to win $20 to the Newton’s Nook Online Store! I found this sketch to be super inspiring, and I hope you do, too!

For my card today, I used the adorable new Never Enough Cats Stamp Set (there’s a coordinating set for the dog lovers, too!) I started by stamping the main image and the small speech bubble from the set, and colored them with Copic markers. Here are the combinations I used –

Black Cats: 100, W8, W6, W5, W4

Grey Cats: C8, C6, C4, C2

Brown Cats: E47, E44, E43, E42

Siamese Cat: E18, E17, E15, E13, E11, E50

Girl: E11, E51, E50, E35, E32, E30, R29, R08, R05

After coloring, I cut out the images using the coordinating dies

To emulate the sketch, I took a piece of the red polka dot paper from the Meowy Christmas Paper Pad and cut three strips that measured 1.25in W x 4in L. Next, I cut two strips of black card stock and cut those down to .25in W x 4in L. To create the background, I took a white, A2 card base and glued the strips down, starting and ending with the red and putting the black stripes in the middle.

For the focal point, I cut a piece of white card stock using the stitched rectangle from the Frames and Flags Die Set. In the lower portion of the panel, I stamped the sentiment, “Cover Yourself in Happiness” in black ink. To finish off the card, I glued the panel to the middle of the card base, and popped up the colored images on foam tape.

I hope you join us in the Inky Paws Challenge for a chance to win $20 to the Newton’s Nook Online Store

Thanks for stopping by!
