Rainbow Book Lover Card – IPC

Cards

Hello and welcome back!

This is your final chance to join the current Inky Paws Sketch Challenge! It is super easy to join and so much fun! Use the sketch as inspiration for your project, then link a photo to the Inky Paws Blog for a chance to win $20 to the Newton’s Nook Online Store! You have until the end of the day Friday, March 3rd to enter for a chance to win!

When I first saw this sketch, I immediately thought of the A7 Frames and Banners Die Set. The main die in the set looks exactly like the sketch, so I knew it would be perfect for this challenge!

I started by stamping and coloring the two main images from the All Booked Up Stamp Set. For my coloring, I used Copic markers in the following combinations:

Black: 100, W8, W6, W5, W3

White: W4, W2, W1

Pink: RV66, RV55, RV32

Orange: YR07, YR04, YR12

Yellow: Y19, Y13, Y11

Green: YG45, YG03, YG01

Teal: BG49, BG45, BG32

Blue: B16, B14, B12

Purple: V09, V06, V04

After coloring, I cut the images out with the coordinating dies

Next, I die cut the main frame of the A7 Die Set with a piece of watercolor paper. I wanted to keep the rainbow theme going, so I watercolored the border using the following ink colors: Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, Gina K Wild Dandelion Ink, Gina K Grass Green Ink, Gina K Turquoise Sea Ink, and Gina K Blue Denim Ink.

As I started to put my card together, I decided the middle panel was a little boring, so I stamped the heart and paw print images from the All Booked Up Set and stamped and colored them using the same marker combinations from the books.

To finish off my card, I added the dog and the cat on either side of the middle, then stamped the sentiment, “Reading makes ruff days better,” onto a white banner that I cut using the Banner Trio Die Set.

I hope you join us in the Inky Paws Challenge for a chance to win $20 to the Newton’s Nook Online Store!

And be sure to check out the retiring products – there are lots of cute sets available, but once they are gone, they are not coming back!

Thanks for stopping by!
