Hello and welcome back!
There are only five days left to join the warm and cozy Inky Paws Challenge! Link a photo of your projects to the Newton’s Nook Blog for a chance to win $20 to the Newton’s Nook Online Store!
For my second cozy card, I created a clean-and-simple scene using an older (but still adorable!) stamp set.
To start, I stamped and colored the main image from the Penguin Pile stamp set. I used Copic markers in the following combinations –
Penguins: 100, W8, W5, W3, W1
Purples: V09, V06, V04
Blues: B28, B26, B24
Teals: BG78, BG45, BG72
Ice: BG13, BG11, BG10
After coloring, I cut out the image using the coordinating die set.
I wanted to create a simple, snowy background, so I cut an A2 card front out of white card stock and ink blended with Salvaged Patina Distress Ink on the left side of the card front. To add some snow, I stamped a mixture of snowflakes from the Snow Angel Newton Stamp Set using the same distress ink. For a touch of shimmer, I splattered the background with Confetti White Perfect Pearls.
I finished the card by stamping the sentiment “piles of warm winter wishes” from the Penguin Pile stamp set in black ink and popped up the penguins with foam tape.
I hope you join us in the Inky Paws Challenge for a chance to win $20 to the Newton’s Nook Online Store!
